A Recipe for Success

It all started back in 2005 when Jonathan Soares decided to market his mothers' homemade BBQ sauce while developing a business plan for a college project. Jonathan being a foodie at heart, with a love for gourmet cuisine and a passion for starting businesses decided to take a chance. He perfected his mothers Original Honey BBQ Sauce recipe and developed the Hickory Teriyaki and Spicy Cajun flavors. In May of 2005 at 20 years of age he invested all of his savings which was about $10,000 and started Q Products which marketed Jonathan’s Q™ All Natural BBQ Sauces.

Early on, Jonathan had a vision of national expansion as he saw a shift in consumer demand for specialty products across the U.S.A. He began networking and building relationships with supermarket chains, club stores, restaurant chains, distributors, industry professionals and anyone that would give him the opportunity for a conversation. Jonathan was passionate, persistent and dedicated to building his business and gaining as much knowledge of the food industry as possible.

Sure enough these sweet, succulent and smooth sauces began to catch national attention. Before Jonathan knew it, his delicious Jonathan’s Q™ brand of gourmet BBQ sauces were featured in more than 1,000 supermarket locations. As his knowledge expanded and contact base grew larger and larger Jonathan truly believed he could single handily position his brand for a national launch.
